ASTA Solo Competition

Dear ASTA Member:

As Chair of the 2010 Georgia American String Teachers Association Solo Competition I am writing to inform you of the schedule and requirements for this year's competition and to invite you and your students to participate in this event.  The 2010 Georgia ASTA Solo Competition will be held at Reinhardt University on Saturday, October 2, 2010 in the Falany Performing Arts Center.  Winners of the state competition may continue on to a recorded semi-final round.  The final round of the ASTA National Solo Competition will take place March 16-19, 2011 at the ASTA National Conference in Kansas City.

Attached you will find the guidelines for the national competition. The Georgia competition will follow all of the same guidelines for repertoire and timing as the national competition. Complete guidelines and information for the national competition are posted on the ASTA web site at www.astaweb.com.

In order to register as an entrant, please return the attached form, along with an entrance fee of $55.00, payable to Georgia ASTA.  All registrations must be postmarked no later than Wednesday, September 15, 2010.  Entrants must also submit a copy of an official document indicating the entrant's date of birth (e.g. birth certificate, passport, etc.)  Applications should be mailed to Dr. Richard Bell at the address above.  Upon receipt of an application, entrants will be supplied with all pertinent final information.
